We are getting back to the basics.
A fish fry and socializing, that's how this all started.




Geezer Fry Head Master –     Joe McKlemurry (AXMAN)


Duties: Oversee the Fry Slugs and provide Free Consulting on the finer points of Fry
Festivities. Will roam at will to help as needed. Will provide the secret recipe for the
coating as well as provide guidance on how much of what staple products require procuring.


Set Up Stars Co-chair-     Need Volunteer


Duties: Recruit stars to show up early the day of the Fry to help with general tasks.
Also, visit the Fry site the afternoon prior to the Fry to help hang tarps, banners, etc.

Meat Monger/Prepping Preppies Co-chair     Wayne Mc Cullough (Paokie)


Duties: Responsible for soliciting fish tonnage, recruiting Prepping Preppies (those who
show up early to prepare and coat the fish), and making sure the Prepping Preppies work
instead of goofing off.

Fry Frats Co-chair -     Phil Stephenson (Kahuna)

Duties: Responsible for recruiting Fry Frats and managing the fry area on Fry Day.
Makes sure all Fry Frats have fish/fries/hush puppies etc. at their finger tips. Is
responsible for making sure the Fry Frats do not eat all that they cook and that there is
food left enough for the fry goers. Main job will be to keep Kahuna at his assigned work
space.

Dish Dudes/Dudettes Co Chair     Need Volunteer


Duties: Solicit and track side dishes. Monitor distribution percentages to make sure that
the proper allocation of food includes salads, cole slaw, deserts, etc. Not good if 150
people all bring salad. Be in charge of setting up the most efficient serving line
architecture.

Show Studs/Studettes Co-chair-     Need Volunteer

Duties : Solicit Studs and Studettes who have some talent (related to striper fishing) to
strut their stuff during the festivities.

Duties Be the folks who run the registration table, collectors of fry donations.


Delightful Dumpsters Co-chair    Need Volunteer


Duties: Recruit folks to help fill up the trash bags after the Fry.

Duties: Recruit and track folks who can provide tables for the Fry. Arrive at Fry Site
afternoon prior to Fry to arrange and set up tables.

Duties: Recruit and track folks who are gracious enough to bring ice to the Fry for Fry
Goer’s drinks.

Staple Meaningfuls Co-chair-     Need Volunteer

  

Duties: Be responsible for going to Sam’s or similar establishment to procure all staples
required for the Fry. These include, but are not limited to: Peanut oil, plates, batter,
ketchup, hot sauce, tartar sauce, etc.

Schedule of Events - 7th Annual Six Old Geezers Fish Fry

Friday, October 2nd, 2009

4:00 p.m. Meet at the pavilion to set up tables and hang tarps, etc.

Saturday, October 3rd, 2009

8:30 a.m. Chairman Arrival to secure the area and "check on stuff"

9:00 a.m. Set up Crew - report to arrange tables, rope, hang banner, and other last minute task, etc.

9:30 a.m. Host and Hostess - ready to label folks

11:15 a.m. Preppie Preppies - report to get fry mixtures mixed

11:30 a.m. Fry Frats - Report to get oil in fryers and get the oil hot

12:25 p.m. Hushpuppies and Fries in the grease as they take a little longer

12:45 p.m. Fish in the grease won't take long

1:00 p.m. Lunch Line Start so that we have a good 35 minutes or so to eat

1:35 p.m. Volunteer Needed: Volunteer Needed to review the projects, acknowledge the contributors,
outline plans for ongoing projects and future plans, and make the presentations.

Directions: on Highway 69\75, exit at the Colbert/Platter exit, head
north (over highway) on Leavenworth Trail to Highway 70. On Highway
70, head west over the Roosevelt Bridge. When you see the below sign,
turn south (to your left).

If you are coming from Kingston, on Highway 70, go east until you see
the below sign. When you see the sign, you will turn to the south (to your
right)



Follow this road (real short distance) until you reach the road going to your right.
Follow the arrow to the "Rally Pavaillion".


Traveling south (with the Golf Course on your left, and the Air Strip on
on your right, you will cross the "Rooster Creek Bridge"


Just on the other side of the "Rooster Creek Bridge" there is a road
heading to the east (your left), with the below sign on the corner, take this
road to the "Rally Pavaillion".


You will see the "Rally Pavaillion" to your right as you travel this road.


Here are a couple of pictures of the "Rally Pavaillion". As you can
see, it is quite large, with ample parking for all.







Here are 3 pictures of camping facilities next to the Pavaillion. No
reservations, first come first served. There are around 20 sites next to
the Pavaillion, and plenty more just south of there. $18.00 per day.
